Workshop Descriptions:

Get Smart: Study Smart -  Take control and improve your grades. Defeat the chaos of poor time management. Learn effective study skills that will make you an agent of change.

Making a "Major" Career Decision - What do you want to be when you grow up? This workshop is designed to assist attendees with exploring their interests, values, and skills, and using this knowledge to find a career that best fits their personality.

"Blues Clues" -  Depression and the College Student - Depression among college students is very common. Signs and symptoms of depression are often overlooked or misunderstood. This workshop will assist the attendee with identifying symptoms of depression and learn effective coping skills for symptom management. This workshop will include a free depression screening for interested individuals.

Internships and Co-Ops - Today's competitive job market requires college students to do more than just complete a degree program - students need work experience and a specific set of job search skills and knowledge to gain the advantage. This workshop will assist students with identifying internship and co-op opportunities designed to gain work experience before graduation.

Resumes and Interviewing -  Workshop attendees will learn how to write exceptional resumes and develop practical interviewing skills to get that awesome job or internship. This workshop is also designed to prepare DSC students for the Career Fair and other Career Fair events.

Don't Freak Out: Managing Stress in College -  This workshop will assist the attendee with recognizing problem stress and learn valuable coping skills to manage it.

Test Taking for Finals - Learn how to take a test and not get taken by one. This workshop focuses on study skills, test preparation, and test taking strategies for final exams.

Healthy Relationships -  Studies show that people with healthy relationships really do have more happiness and less stress. There are basic ways to make relationships healthy, even though each one is different. Whether it's parents, siblings, friends, boyfriends, girlfriends, professors, roommates, and classmates, you can learn the basics for how to improve your relationships. This workshop will show you how.
