Dalton State College invites qualified high school seniors and juniors to participate in an exceptional academic program which offers the opportunity to take core classes to fulfill college requirements. Students may also complete the final CPC requirement for English, Math, and Social Science and receive dual credit.
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Be enrolled in a College Prep Curriculum
(CPC) at a regionally-accredited Georgia public high school
and on track to complete CPC requirements
by the end of the senior year
- Have a high school G.P.A. of 3.0 or above
- Have a score of at least 1100/SAT or 25/ACT.*
(To enroll in college courses for the purpose of fulfilling
high school CPC requirements, students must have at least a
530/Verbal SAT or 23/English ACT (for English/social studies
courses) or a 530/Math SAT or 22/Math ACT (for math/natural
science courses)
- Be exempt from all Learning Support requirements.
*Students with an SAT of at
least 970 (minimum 450 Verbal/500 Math) or an ACT of 20
(minimum 19 English/21 Math) who meet the other criteria
listed above may ask for special consideration for admission
to Dalton State College by submitting an Appeal for Early
Enrollment to the DSC Admissions Committee. Admissions
Standards for the Program are being revised for Fall 2008.

The Tech-Prep Georgia HOPE Grant
Program allows Georgia public high school students to enroll
in certificate and technical-level courses at Georgia
technical colleges, with tuition paid by the Georgia HOPE
Grants. To enroll in the Tech-Prep programs at Dalton State
College, a student must:
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Achieve Compass Placement test scores of at least:
- 35 in English
- 35 in pre-algebra
- 62 in reading
- Achieve CPAT Placement test scores of at least:
- 52 language usage
- 54 numerical skills
- 51 reading skills
SAT/ACT scores are not required
for admission to the Tech-Prep Georgia HOPE Grant Program,
and there is no minimum high school grade point average, but
students must be exempt from all Learning Support
requirements.
