Mission Statement:
The mission of the Dalton State College Adult Education Program is to assist target populations in becoming literate, obtaining educational skills necessary to enter and retain employment, obtaining the General Education Development (GED®) credential, and transitioning to postsecondary education or other training.
Dalton State College Adult Education offers free instruction to adults in reading, writing, math, preparation for the GED Tests, and English as a Second Language. The program offers group, individualized, and computer/Internet based instruction.
Dalton State College is an official test center for administering GED tests. Those making satisfactory scores on this test will receive a GED diploma from the Technical College System of Georgia. This diploma is widely accepted by government, business, industry, and educational institutions. GED Testing is available at the Whitfield County Adult Education site, 2310 Maddox Chapel Road, Dalton, 30721. GED tests are provided several times a month to accommodate work and personal schedules. Effective July1, 2012, the GED testing fee is $160.00.
