Peer
Instruction Program
|
|
The Peer Instruction Program helps students
develop the academic skills needed for
success in the classroom. Peer Instruction
leaders encourage students to think
critically through the arguments being
developed in their classes and engage them
in group discussions where their ideas and
insights can be expressed. Peer leaders help
students achieve the confidence levels
necessary to become engaged, effective
students.
At Dalton State, the Peer Instruction
Program is comprised of three specific
sub-programs: Peer Leaders act as
co-instructors of First Year Experience
Seminar 1000 (FYES1000) classes; Peer
Leaders facilitate Supplemental Instruction
(SI) sessions; and Peer Leaders conduct
individual tutoring sessions for students
who need one-on-one academic instruction.
