- How do I request Services?
- Students with disabilities should contact Disability Support Services in
Academic Resources to request reasonable accommodations for academic programs and other activities of Dalton State College. Student must personally register with Disability Support Services by providing adequate documentation to verify the disability. A minimum of five to ten business days is needed for approved accommodations to be arranged.
Follow these steps:
¤Voluntarily register with Academic
Resources as a person with a disability
and request Disability Support Services;
¤Provide recent documentation of the disability.
Documentation is kept confidential;
¤Permit staff to consult with the Board of Regents of
the University System of Georgia of the Regents
Center for Learning Disorders of Georgia State
University for eligibility and recommendations;
¤Work with Academic Resources, faculty, and staff to arrange
accommodations;
¤Immediately notify Academic Resources if a problem arises regarding
accommodations or services;
¤Continually update Academic Resources about changes in circumstances
(including address and phone number) and request adjustments to
accommodations (and records) as needed.
When should I request Services?
A request for Disability Support Services may be submitted at any
time. However, as it can take a minimum of two weeks to process a
new request, students are encouraged to contact the office when an
admission application is submitted to Dalton State College.
Students who find it difficult to come to Academic
Resources to request
accommodations should contact Academic Resources for assistance.
