In FYES1000 Learning Communities, students take the same classes and have the same professors as other students in their community. Example: If you sign-up for a learning Community, you will sign up for both a content course (POLS1101) and your First Year Experience Seminar (FYES1000). These courses are linked, taught by the same instructor, and all students registered in this community are taking the courses together. This format offers students an excellent opportunity to strengthen their campus connection, develop deeper friendships, and form study groups.
Students registering for the first time at
DSC must meet with and Academic Advisor in the
DSC’s Academic Advising Center. (LIA107)
At this time, your advisor will go over your
program of study and requirements, outside
school responsibilities, and help you choose an
FYES1000 class that best fits your schedule.
