CAAP Exam

The Collegiate Assessment of Academic Proficiency (CAAP) assesses college students' academic achievement in core general educational skills. The exam sessions are offered twice per academic year, in December and April.

The purpose of the CAAP is to find out how much you (and your classmates) have learned in one or more of the following areas:

  • Reading

  • Mathematics

  • Science Reasoning

  • Critical Thinking

These are the subject areas that most often make up a college's core general education curriculum. Looking at CAAP scores is one way for DSC to measure how effectively the curriculum has prepared its graduates.

The CAAP test is a 40 minute test that is required of all students receiving an associate's degree. Students taking the test should bring a photo id, # 2 pencil, and a calculator to the test session.
