The COMPASS Placement exam is very important. This exam is taken
instead of the SAT and ACT to determine if a
student will place into college level courses.
The exam consists of reading, writing, and
mathematics. All students are required to take
the COMPASS Placement exam, there is no time limit, and
it is taken on a computer. Examinees are strongly encouraged to take this exam seriously.
This
exam is only given to students planning to
attend Dalton State College.
The Compass Exam is FREE, but you must submit a
DSC application for
enrollment PRIOR to registering for the exam.
You will then receive a Dalton State Student ID number to
use for the Compass Exam.

On the day of the exam:
Photo ID, a Dalton State Student ID number, and
a test ticket are required for admittance to the test.
Calculators, scratch paper and pencils are
provided.
