Dalton State College has contracted with
ConnectED for their emergency contact service.
If you (and your family) would like to be
alerted in the event of an emergency, just
provide us with up to 6 phone numbers. Should an
emergency arise, ConnectED will automatically
dial and send out thousands of emergency alerts
within just a few minutes.
The cost to participate is free and all
currently enrolled students, faculty, and staff
are eligible. Participation is optional. If you
do not wish to be alerted – do nothing.
If you’d like to participate, just follow these
step-by-step instructions to set up your
emergency contact information:

Step 1 Log into the DSConnect portal and click
the “Personal Information” link within the
Banner channel as shown above.

Step 2 Click the “View Emergency Contacts” link
on the Personal Information Menu as shown above.

Step 3 If you haven’t ever supplied emergency
contact information, you will receive the “No
Emergency Contact Information found” message.
Just click “Update Emergency Contacts” to
add/change contacts as shown above.

Step 4 If you already had emergency contacts
that you wished to update, you would just click
the name of the contact. In this case, we are
adding our first contact so just click “New
Contact”.

Step 5 Select “ConnectED Emergency” from the
drop-down list as indicated above. Up to 6
emergency contacts can be defined with a
Relationship setting of “ConnectED Emergency”.
If more than 6 emergency contacts are set up
with a Relationship setting of “ConnectED
Emergency”, only the first 6 will be used.
You may also designate an emergency contact as
“ConnectED Emergency Text” if you have a phone
number capable of receiving a text message. Only
1 emergency contact can be designated as
“ConnectED Emergency Text”. If more than 1
contact is set up with a Relationship setting of
“ConnectED Emergency Text”, only the first 1
listed will be used.

Step 6 Fill in the name and phone number
information and click “Submit Changes” as
indicated above.

Step 7 Your emergency contacts are displayed. To
add additional ConnectED Emergency contacts,
click “New Contact” and repeat steps 4-6. You
may also update existing contact information by
clicking the name of the contact.
Your ConnectED Emergency Contact setup is now
complete. You may close this browser window.
