The mission of Dalton State Counseling and Career Services is to holistically support the individual student and the campus community. Counseling and Career Services will promote personal and professional growth and development by helping students meet their personal, academic, social, and career goals. Services are individually tailored to consider cultural and diversity needs while maintaining the high standards of the counseling profession. Central to our mission and daily practice is a commitment to client confidentiality, upholding ethical behavior, and providing counseling therapy based on current research and proven standards of care. Counseling services will:

  • Reflect an emphasis on brief counseling that is solution-focused
  • Demonstrate non-judgmental caring and positive regard for individuals
  • Utilize the students’ strengths to enhance well-being

Counseling and Career Services will support the campus community, including students, faculty, and staff, through consultation, educational outreach programs, teaching, and training.
