Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Accounting
Responsibilities: The successful candidates will have a doctorate in accounting, or a closely related field, from an AACSB accredited university, an established record of excellence in teaching, and a solid record of scholarly research. The ability to teach financial accounting and at least one other accounting area is preferred.

Salary is competitive with the AACSB small school network. These tenure-track, academic year positions are available August 2013.

Position: Part-time Faculty Position in Economics
Responsibilities: The School of Business at Dalton State College has a part-time faculty position in Economics for Fall 2013 beginning in August at the Dalton State Ellijay campus.
Qualifications: Position requires a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in Economics.

Position: CHAIR DEPARTMENT OF SOCIAL WORK
Responsibilities: The Department of Social Work includes four faculty lines. The program is fully accredited by the CSWE through 2019. The BSW program at Dalton State seeks to prepare professional generalist social workers to work with the Appalachian rural population and the immigrant and native Georgian Latino population. Dalton State College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the Associate and the Bachelor’s Degree.

This ten-month tenure-track position is available August 1, 2014. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials.

Responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to:
  • Direct an accredited Bachelor of Social Work Program
  • Teach four, three-semester-hour courses per academic year
  • Academic advisement, committee work, professional development, College and community service
  • Mentor faculty in developing scholarly products
  • Coordinate Department assessments
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Dean of Health Professions
Qualifications: Requirements for the position include:
  • Earned doctorate in social work or a related field and MSW with at least two years of post-MSW direct practice experience; LCSW preferred
  • Experience in social work education and academic administration
  • Record of scholarly accomplishments

Position: Science Laboratory Coordinator
Responsibilities: Responsibilities include preparing and coordinating science laboratory classes; teaching classes and/or labs as assigned; assisting with chemical inventory and disposal; other duties as assigned by the department chair.
Qualifications: B.S. in Biology or Chemistry in hand or expected by August 1, 2014; preference may be given to someone with teaching experience in a laboratory setting.

Familiarity with instrumentation and software is essential.
