Responsibilities: The successful candidates will have a doctorate in accounting, or a closely related field, from an AACSB accredited university, an established record of excellence in teaching, and a solid record of scholarly research. The ability to teach financial accounting and at least one other accounting area is preferred.

Salary is competitive with the AACSB small school network. These tenure-track, academic year positions are available August 2013.

Position: Assistant Professor of Reading and/or ESOL (tenure-track).
Responsibilities: This is a tenure-track position in the School of Education at Dalton State College.

Responsibilities of the position include teaching reading coursework and/or ESOL coursework with a four/four load, advising, scholarship, and service to the school, the college, and the college community.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must hold or complete a terminal degree with 18 graduate hours in reading or 18 graduate hours in ESOL by August 1, 2013 (preference will be given to candidates who have earned 18 graduate hours in both areas).

Teaching experience in the public schools at the elementary level is required. Prior teaching experience in higher education is preferred.

Position: Chair of the Department of Nursing
Responsibilities: Dalton State College, a member of the University System of Georgia, invites applications for the Chair of the Department of Nursing. The Nursing Department is a unit of the School of Health Professions and the department currently offers an Associate Degree Nursing (RN) program and a RN-BSN program.
  • Oversee the accreditation of the departmental programs
  • Provide leadership in the management of the department, including the recruitment, supervision, evaluation, and appointment of staff and faculty.
  • Teach nursing courses as needed.
  • Collaborate with regional health care service providers.
  • Oversee the assessment of the department’s courses and programs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Dean of the School of Health Professions.
Qualifications:
  • An earned doctorate in nursing or an earned doctorate in a related discipline with a master’s degree in nursing.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience with the accreditation processes of health-related programs.
  • Prior administrative experience preferred.

Responsibilities: Dalton State College seeks to fill two tenure-track assistant/associate professor positions in Biology. One of the positions will address the need to staff additional Human Anatomy and Physiology classes, the other is open
