Position: Assistant Professor of English
Responsibilities: The Department of English at Dalton State College is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position in English.

Responsibilities of the position include teaching eight classes per academic year. Teaching assignments may be day, evening, or weekends, possibly at off-campus locations. Academic advising, committee work, planning and assessment, other College and community service, and professional development will also be required along with any other such duties as assigned by the chair of English. The salary is commensurate with credentials and experience. An on-campus interview and teaching demonstration will be required prior to an official offer of the position. University System of Georgia policy requires a background check for any candidate who accepts an offer of employment.
Qualifications: The position requires a Ph.D. in English (with a minimum of 18 semester/30 quarter graduate hours in English). The successful candidate will have a genuine interest in and commitment to teaching freshman composition and lower-division courses in the humanities and a firm commitment to a learning-centered teaching process. Applicants with credentials to teach in Rhetoric and Composition, who have experience teaching multicultural literature (especially Hispanic or Latino), or who have experience in teaching ESL may be given preference.

We currently offer the B.B.A. degree with majors in Accounting, Management, Management Information Systems, Marketing Systems, and the B.A.S. in Technology Management. The School also offers an A.S. in Business Administration, an A.A.S. in Supervision, and a Certificate in Supervision.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a doctorate in accounting, an established record of excellence in teaching, and academic preparation to maintain a solid record of scholarly research. Position: Part Time Mechanical Graphics Instructors
Responsibilities: Dalton State College is seeking part-time Mechanical Graphics instructors to teach 3D modeling and mechanical drawing using AutoDesk Inventor.
Qualifications: Position requires an associate’s (with demonstrated work experience in the field), bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer-aided design, mechanical graphics or a related field. Good communication, organization, and planning skills required. Experience with SolidWorks would be a plus.

Position: Assistant Professor of Psychology
Responsibilities: The Department of Social Sciences at Dalton State College is seeking applicants for a tenure-track position in Psychology.

Qualifications: The position requires a Ph.D. in Psychology; ABD’s will be considered if it is likely that all conditions for earning the Ph.D. will be met before classes begin in Fall, 2015. We are particularly interested in candidates who have an interest in the biological aspects of psychology. We are primarily a teaching institution so the successful candidate will have a primary interest in teaching and a history of effective teaching. DSC has a relatively new BS Psychology program with approximately 200 psychology majors.

Position: Assistant Professor of Social Work
Responsibilities: This tenure-track position involves the on-going development and teaching of BSW courses (seven courses per academic year) which may be delivered in either face-to-face or online format. Excellence in teaching that includes the use of technology is required. Service to the Department, College, and the larger community are expected. Faculty members are also expected to undertake an ongoing program of professional development activities and/or research and are also expected to provide academic advising.

Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Qualifications: Qualifications to include:
  • MSW from a CSWE accredited program in social work required
  • Earned doctorate in social work or closely related field preferred
  • Two years direct social work practice experience required with five or more years preferred.
  • Teaching experience in a higher education setting strongly preferred
  • LMSW or LCSW in the State of Georgia (or license eligible) preferred
  • Spanish language proficiency is preferred
