Summer Academy

Teacher Contract

June 7-18, 2010

 

Responsibilities: Each summer teacher provides quality instruction within the classes to which he or she is assigned.  The teacher is assigned to one or more content area of instruction, such as Writing, Social Science, Science, or Math. High school teachers prepare students to pass the Georgia High School Graduation exams.  Middle school teachers provide enrichment instruction to prepare students for their next grade level.   Preliminary planning sessions are called for 4:30-5:30 pm on Wednesdays.  Coordinating meetings may occur between 12 noon and 12:15 pm during the summer session.  In illness or emergency, telephone the head teacher, who serves as the substitute teacher.  At the coordinator's discretion, missing one or more days will result in reduced compensation.  The teacher must be in the assigned class throughout the teaching schedule and must be on campus and available to attend coordinating meetings on any day in the summer program from 8:00 am through 12:15 pm.

Compensation:  For completing the contract, the teacher is compensated in the amount of $1,500.  Absences may reduce the compensation.  The coordinator plans to disburse checks on the final day of the summer program.
