Biography:

Hello! Welcome to my webpage. I have taught at Dalton State College since August of 2004. It's a great place to work. I have been teaching at the college level since 1978. I am currently finishing my term as the Chair of the QEP committee for the SACS Compliance Recertification. I am also the faculty sponsor for the Baptist Collegiate Ministries and First Vice President of the Georgia Communication.

My original home was Prince George's County, Maryland. I came to college in the Chattanooga area and liked it so much that I never left. I currently live in Ringgold with my husband, David. Our son Paul is a 2011 graduate of Carson-Newman College. We have two rescue dogs, Buddy and Nala.  My research interests are adult learning (I am in a doctoral program at the University of Georgia), rhetorical practices in the history of United States politics, and the relationship of religion to political discourse. I am also very interested in composition studies, fiction writing, and literature. I have published four novels and am working  (slowly) on a fifth.  I have been able to travel to Europe five times and hope to go again soon.

If you are looking for Course Materials, announcements, etc., go to GeorgiaVIEW and find your course. You can do so by clicking on the GeorgiaVIEW icon at the top of the college's web page, logging in with the same username and password you use for campus email, and then finding the link to the course I am teaching. We will use GEORGIAVIEW a great deal, so go ahead and explore.

I commend you for making Dalton State College your higher education choice.
