Biography:
I began and completed my undergraduate education in my home town, earning a B.A. with majors in speech communication and political science at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I also hold two graduate degrees from the institutions noted above.
My college teaching career began after an enjoyable two years teaching English in French companies in Paris. While there, I also studied French at the Sorbonne. Thereafter, I taught at the college level in three states in the South, and my six-year stay in New Orleans was particularly rewarding. Now in my ninth year at DSC, I am pleased to be teaching my two favorite courses, public speaking and beginning French. One teaching highlight since coming to DSC has been participation in our summer study abroad program in Paris, which I highly recommend.
My other interests include watching classic films, playing flag football, and pursuing fitness in general. Travel is a passion also, especially when good food figures into the trip. In fact, my wife, Rhonda (a teacher also), and I are delighted to be working in fields that allow us to spend parts of summers abroad, but we are sorry our little girls, Nicole (r) and Aida, cannot fly coach.
