As a native of North Georgia, after finishing my undergraduate degree at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, I headed to Atlanta to attend graduate school at Georgia State University, where I taught for six years. I am now glad to be home, living in Ringgold, GA, with my teenage son, Kelton, and teaching at Dalton State College (my parent's alma mater) since 2008.
My research interests include Twentieth-century American Literature and Disability Studies (autism). I also love reading about psychology and religion. In my free time, I enjoy yoga and traveling. My most notable trips to date include hiking in the Costa Rican rain forest and taking a safari in Kenya.
