Biography:
After graduating from Emory University with Bachelor of Arts degrees in psychology and sociology, I attended the University of Georgia where I received the Master of Social Work degree. I also graduated from Florida State University where I received the Doctor of Philosophy degree in Social Work. I am also a licensed clinical social worker in the State of Georgia.
I have been a social worker for more than 25 years. During my career, I have held a number of clinical and administrative positions in the health and mental health fields. I also held academic positions at the Florida State University, Florida A&M University, and Mercer University, School of Medicine.
My academic interests include health and mental health policy advocacy, and community practice. I am especially interested in the social determinants of health and illness and reducing disparities in health care. I sometimes develop and teach online courses, and I am interested in using technology in macro practice
