Course Learning Objectives

 

 

The course aims at meeting the general goals and intended outcomes of the Division of Social Sciences (See below). However, the course aims at meeting specific learning objectives. Upon completion of Sociology 1101, students should have knowledge and ability to demonstrate that about the following areas:

 

 

1. The sociological theory, particularly the functional and conflict perspectives.

2. Methods of conducting sociological research.

3. Stratification, particularly social classes, within society and in a global context.

4. Identifying age, gender, and racial inequality.

5. Culture, deviance, the economy, and politics.
