Course Requirements and Evaluation:

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

Students are required to attend to class activities, read the text, participate in class discussions, and take all the tests described in this syllabus. Evaluation will be based on the student's ability to demonstrate understanding of the topics discussed throughout the course.

EVALUATION

Evaluation is divided into the following three main parts:

1.   There are five multiple-choice exams, which account for 74% of the grade. The exams will be drawn from the text, lectures, and media presented to the class.

2.    Online home tests (through Vista) account for 26%.

3.    Attendance is rewarded by 3 extra credit percentage points. One-half of a point will be deducted for every day of absence.

4.     Absence: Absence should not exceed 8 days throughout the semester, unless it is justifiably approved by the instructor. If unjustified absence exceeds 8 days before the mid of the semester, a student is advised to drop the course. Otherwise, an "F" may be assigned.

Notes concerning assignment due dates:

1. Exams are to be taken on campus, at the specific times stated in the course schedule.

2. Online tests are to be taken through Vista, on the announced dates and deadlines.
