1. The following lists the top-paying governors in the U.S. for 2001.
a. Find m for the five highest governors salary in 2001.
b. Find m0.

2. Find the m for samples of size three in #1.

3. The mean use of mathematics books is 4.3 years and the standard deviation is 1.2 years (not really - I made this up!).

a. Determine the mean and standard deviation for the random variable 0 with n = 100.

b. Repeat a. with n = 200.

4. The length of the western rattlesnake is normally distributed with m = 42 inches and s = 2.04 inches.
a. Determine the sampling distribution of the mean for random samples of size 10.
b. Find the probability the mean length of the snakes obtained will be within 3 inches of the population mean.

5. In Alabama, in 2004, there were 4340 cases in private industry of some sort of bodily injury with a mean time of staying out work 7 days and a standard deviation of 7.6 days. Suppose 100 people are to be selected at random from Alabama in the private sector who have had injuries to their body.

a. Find the probability that the standardized version of 0 will be between -1 and 1.
