Born in Pauls Valley, OK on February 11, 1959. Graduated
from Weatherford (OK) HS in 1977. After 4 years
of sterling varsity tennis play (OK--more wins than losses, anyway!), graduated
from East
Central (OK) University with a BA in Government and a BA in History
in 1981. Received an MA in Poli. Sci. from Vanderbilt University in
1986, and an Ed.D. in Poli. Sci. from Oklahoma State University in
1992. Now in 14th year at Dalton State College, teaching
American Government and State and Local Government. DSC is the
fourth college teaching stop in an
academic career that also included two ill-fated attempts at high
school teaching. Wife Vanessa teaches 6th grade reading
at Dalton Middle School. Daughter Ericka is a junior at
Georgia State University in Atlanta, while Evan is almost 9 and Elyssa just turned
7. Dog named Buddy rounds out the family. Religion: Baptist;
Political Party: Democrat.
