Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs |

|
The Associate Vice
President for Academic Affairs serves as chief
of staff to the Vice President for Academic and
Student Affairs and is responsible for
substantial planning and personnel functions in
a fast-paced collegial setting. The associate
vice president supervises the division deans and
two assistant vice presidents for Academic
Affairs and their functional areas:
International Education, Libraries, and Faculty
Services; Early College and Academic
Initiatives.
Earned doctorate in an academic discipline from
an accredited college/university required.
Candidates must demonstrate a broad
understanding of current issues and future
directions in higher education, especially at
the interface of technology and the learning
process. The successful candidate will have
excellent written and oral communication skills,
a collaborative and facilitative leadership
style which is focused on teamwork within the
academic and student affairs units, a commitment
to diversity, creative in thought and actions, a
focus on service to students, and an active
interest in service, economic development and
outreach to the community. Professional and
ethical behavior with understanding of
discretion and confidentiality is essential.
Seven years of progressively responsible
administrative experience in a college or
university required. Experience as a tenured
faculty member as well as teaching and scholarly
qualifications consistent with a tenured
appointment required. A combination of
education, training and experience may be
considered.
Position requires local travel. Ability to lift
and carry files and materials. Ability to move
from one office to another office on campus.
Adequate vision, hearing and manual dexterity to
interact with people in person, on the phone and
in writing. Job takes place in normal
environmental conditions.
Position may require non-standard work hours
(nights and weekends).
$85,865+ commensurate with education and
experience with excellent benefits.
