Dalton State College is seeking
qualified part-time instructors to teach
humanities, social science, physical education,
and natural science classes at its new Gilmer
County Center in Ellijay, GA.
Positions are available in English, Psychology,
Speech, History, Geography, Physical Education,
Political Science, Sociology, Music,
Mathematics, Geology, and Biology.
In addition, one full-time temporary position is
available in English.
All positions require a master’s degree with at
least 18 semester hours of graduate-level
coursework in the subject field. |

positions beginning August, 2009. All positions require
a Doctorate in the field and a commitment to
undergraduate education at all levels. All positions are
contingent upon funding.
Responsibilities for each position include teaching
27-29 credit hours per academic year which may include
evening and/or off-campus courses, advising, and

| The
Department of Social Sciences at Dalton State
invites applications for the Bandy Chair in
History, a newly endowed position whose
responsibilities will include establishing the
Bandy Heritage Center for Northwest Georgia.
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in history or
related discipline and should have a record of
scholarship sufficient for initial appointment
at the rank of professor. Ideally, the
successful candidate's area(s) of specialization
will touch in some way on the history and/or
cultural development of the Northwest Georgia
Region. The holder of the Bandy Chair will
teach a number of courses in addition to
managing the activities of the Bandy Heritage
Center. |
