Dalton State College is seeking qualified part-time instructors in the areas of Accounting, Biology, Economics, English, Geography, History, Integrated Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Physical Education, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Speech.  Positions are available at the Dalton campus and the Catoosa and Gilmer Centers.

All positions require a master’s degree with at least 18 semester hours of graduate-level coursework in the subject area.

Position Qualifications
/Responsibilities
RN preferred, LPN with current Georgia licensure and a minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required to supervise and instruct nursing assistant students in classroom and clinical sites.  Excellent oral communication skills, clinical skills, and leadership abilities required.  Teaching demonstration required.  Position available for the Spring 2010 semester beginning January 6.

The School of Business currently offers the B.B.A. degree with concentrations in Accounting, Management, Management Information Systems, Operations Management, and Marketing Systems, and the  B.A.S. in Technology Management, as well as an A.S. in Business Administration.  The School is currently in candidacy for AACSB accreditation.  The College is located in scenic northwest Georgia approximately one hour north of Atlanta, GA and thirty minutes south of Chattanooga, TN.

Salary is competitive with the AACSB small school network. This tenure-track, academic year position is available August 2010.

Dalton State College, a unit of the University System of Georgia accredited to award Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees, including the Bachelor of Science in Biology, the Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, and the Bachelor of Science in Mathematics, invites applications for the following full-time, tenure-track positions beginning August, 2010.  All positions require a Doctorate in the field and a commitment to undergraduate education at all levels. All positions are contingent upon funding.  

Responsibilities for each position include teaching 27-29 credit hours per academic year which may include evening and/or off-campus courses, advising, and service.

Doctoral degree in Music (with a minimum of 18 semester/30 quarter graduate hours in music).

A primary interest in, and firm commitment to, a student-centered teaching-learning process. 

Applicants with successful college teaching experience or credentials to teach in a second Humanities discipline may be given preference.        

Responsibilities of the position include  

Teach nine classes per academic year, usually five in the fall and four in the spring.  Possible course release to develop a performing ensemble or chorus. Teaching assignments may be day, evening, or weekends, possibly at off-campus locations.

Academic advising, committee work, planning and assessment, other College and community service, and professional development.

Other such duties as assigned by the chair of Humanities.
