Mission Statement
The primary mission of the School of
Liberal Arts is to provide excellent instruction in
humanities and social science courses that are the
foundation of the core curriculum, that comprise the
various majors within the Departments of Humanities and
Social Sciences, and that support the general
educational goals of each of the various schools within
the College as a whole. Liberal Arts faculty are
dedicated to creating a positive learning environment
that promotes student success and high levels of
achievement; to acquainting students with the
scholarship, literature, methodology, knowledge, and
intellectual perspectives of their disciplines; and to
enhancing students’ critical thinking, reasoning, and
communication skills. |
