Dalton State Graduates 425 in May 6 Ceremony

In its forty-fourth Commencement ceremony held May 6 at the Northwest Georgia Trade and Convention Center, Dr. John O. Schwenn, President of Dalton State College, conferred degrees and certificates on 425 graduates.

Of the diplomas earned, 172--nearly 42 percent--were bachelor’s degrees awarded by the School of Business (52), School of Education (76), School of Liberal Arts (12), School of Sciences and Mathematics (18), and 14 from the School of Social Work. The first-ever bachelor’s degrees were awarded in Chemistry, History, and Criminal Justice. In addition, 64 Associate of Science degrees in Nursing (Registered Nursing) were awarded as well as 119 other associate degrees and 57 certificates.
