Regent Scott Smith Visits Campus
January 31, 2013

Dalton State College President Dr. John O. Schwenn, left, welcomes Scott Smith, newly appointed member of the Georgia Board of Regents, Scott Smith, on Smith’s first visit to campus as a Regent. Regents are appointed by the governor and oversee the 31 colleges and universities of the University System of Georgia. Regent Smith was appointed as the representative of Georgia’s 14th congressional district. While on campus, Regent Smith met with administrators and toured several campus buildings. “We are honored to be the first campus visited by Regent Smith and look forward to working with him as we and the Board of Regents endeavor to create a more educated Georgia,” said Dr. Schwenn.
