Archives >>
Dalton State College Foundation officials announced today that Wachovia Bank has made a gift of $50,000 to add to the Wachovia Scholarship for Business Excellence endowment, which is managed by the DSC Foundation.

The gift was made as part of the Foundation’s recent “Fulfilling the Vision” campaign that raised more than $21 million for student scholarships, program support, and campus expansion.

Wachovia Local Market President Susan Brown and Wachovia Community Advisory Board members were on the Dalton State campus for the presentation of the gift.

"Wachovia is deeply committed to the mission of Dalton State College. We are very enthusiastic about the long-term, dynamic growth the College will provide to the entire northwest Georgia region in the coming years."

“We are extremely proud of Wachovia’s latest investment in the future of Dalton State and our students,” said David Elrod, Director of Institutional Advancement for the College.

“Wachovia and its predecessors have a 40-year history of outstanding support for the College and this latest gift reaffirms that partnership. We are grateful for Wachovia’s continued involvement in the life of the College, our students, and our programs.”

The Wachovia Scholarship recognizes students in Dalton State’s School of Business who excel in academics and who demonstrate significant accomplishments in their chosen field of study.
