The Presidential Search and Screening Committee at Dalton State College will host three open forums on Monday, April 23, to allow the campus community and external stakeholders to have input concerning the desired characteristics for the new President of Dalton State.
Dr. Jim Burran, who has served as President of Dalton State since 1995, announced in February that he will retire on December 31 of this year. His successor, who will be the fourth president in the College’s
40-year history, is expected to be named late this fall.
Members of the Presidential Search and Screening Committee and representatives of Parker Executive Search (www.parkersearch.com) will hold discussion sessions and will answer questions about the search process on Monday during the following time periods: from 9:00 am until 10:00 am; from 12:30 pm until 1:30 pm; and from 5:30 pm until 6:30 pm. The open forums will take place in the auditorium of Memorial Hall on campus.
“Please make plans to attend one of these sessions,” encourages Dr. Marilyn Helms, Chair of the Presidential Search and Screening Committee. “Those who cannot attend during the times that the public forum will be offered will also have the opportunity to meet with members of the Parker Executive Search firm between the sessions. Those meetings will take place in room 114 of the Liberal Arts Building.”
