New students planning to attend Dalton State during fall
semester should have a completed file into the Admission Office
by August 1, says Dr. Angela Harris, Director of Admission.
And for those requesting financial aid, the deadline is even
earlier. The complete financial aid file needs to be received by
July 1 to be able to process the application, according to
Dianne Cox, Director of Financial Aid.
“Because of the volume of new student applications and financial
aid requests for fall, we are requesting that new students
provide a completed application for admission and all supporting
documentation to our office by the first of August,” Harris
says.
Former students, those who have attended Dalton State but have
not attended for two consecutive terms, must submit a completed
Change of Status form to the Office of Admission by August 1 as
well.
The financial aid deadline is earlier, says Cox, because the
process can take longer. And the deadline is firm for all
students, whether new or returning.
Cox warns that if a student turns in all documents pertaining to
financial aid by July 1, he or she must also have completed his
or her admission files, including all supporting documentation,
by that day as well.
“If your admission and financial aid files are not complete by
July 1, you should expect to pay fall semester tuition and
fees,” warns Cox. “This pertains to new students who have never
attended Dalton State and to former students who have not
attended for two consecutive terms.”
