OCIS provides a wide variety of services ranging from helpdesk support of hardware and software issues to online curriculum development. The primary goal of OCIS is to provide quality service and access to information technology tools for the students, faculty, and staff of Dalton State College.

point-of-contact for problem resolution
- Insure proper
personnel is assigned to resolve problems
- Maintain
checkout equipment (projectors, laptops, digital cameras)

- Evaluate
training needs of faculty and staff
- Develop and
publish a training calendar each semester
- Develop and
publish training materials
- Host training
classes for students, faculty, and staff
- Provide
one-on-one assistance to students, faculty, and staff

operation of computers and peripherals in lab
- Staff open
student computer lab during posted hours

- Maintain
database of all software licenses

install and maintain all DSC computers

operation and functionality of software

- Setup and
maintain email accounts for all students, faculty, and staff

deploy and maintain functionality of equipment
- Maintain
inventory of all DSC PC's and peripherals

- Assist faculty,
staff, and student organizations in the development
and maintenance of their web pages
- Maintain DSC
web servers and web site

- Install,
configure, deploy and maintain administrative applications (Banner,
PeopleSoft)
- Maintain
appropriate access for students, faculty, and staff
- Oracle database
