What is a Roadrunner Card?

The Roadrunner Card is Dalton State’s official photo ID card that can also be used to purchase items on campus.  It is important for you to have your Roadrunner Card at all times while at Dalton State.  In addition to being the official ID card, the Roadrunner Card is your roadmap to many services on campus.  Students can deposit money on their account to print and make purchases at the bookstore and Roadrunner Cafe.  The Roadrunner Card also allows access to Bandy Gymnasium and the ability to checkout items from the Roberts Library.  Money must be deposited onto the Roadrunner Cash Account to activate the debit card ability.

What Is Roadrunner Cash?

Roadrunner Cash is a convenient, secure, widely-accepted way to pay for all of your day-to-day expenses as a Dalton State student or faculty/staff member. Essentially, you deposit money to your Roadrunner Cash account and then spend that money using your Roadrunner Card.

Where can I spend Roadrunner Cash?

Roadrunner Cash is accepted as payment at numerous locations on campus.  It can be used for:

  • Roadrunner Café Purchases
  • Bookstore Purchases
  • Select vending machines on the Dalton State campus
  • Printing in the library and compute labs
  • Photocopying
  • Tuition, fees, housing, and parking at the Bursar's office
  • Library Fees and Fines

Who can get a Roadrunner Card?

Anyone affiliated with Dalton State is required to have a Roadrunner Card. This includes full-time and part-time students, faculty, and staff.

What are the office hours and location for the Roadrunner Card & Business Center?

The Roadrunner Card & Business Center is open Monday-Thursday 7:30am – 7:00pm and Friday 7:30am – 2:00pm.  We're located in the Lower Level of the Pope Student Center.

Where can I make deposits to my Roadrunner Card account?

Deposits can be made during normal business hours at the Roadrunner Card & Business Center. Cash deposits may be made at the Library PHIL and Gilmer AMC. Deposits may also be made via the web from the Roadrunner Card & Business Center website.

What is the minimum deposit I can put on my Roadrunner Card?

The minimum deposit online, at the Library PHiL, and the Gilmer AMC is $1. The minimum deposit in the Roadrunner Card & Business Center is $10. 

If I make a deposit at the Roadrunner Card & Business Center or Library PHiL, when will my funds be available for use?

These funds are placed directly on your card and are available instantly.

Where can I get my Roadrunner Card Account Balance?

Account holders can check their card balance online 24 hours a day on the Roadrunner Card website. You can check your balance, obtain monthly statements, view account activity for the last thirty days, and suspend your card if it is lost or stolen. Other ways to check your balance are: 1) When you make a purchase with your Roadrunner Card — the balance is printed at the bottom of each receipt; 2) When you purchase a drink or snack from a vending machine, the balance is flashed on the card reader display; 3) You can get your balance printed at the Library PHiL; 4) You can get your balance by stopping by the Roadrunner Card & Business Center.

I know I have enough money in my account, why am I unable to use vending machines?

This can occur when you have exceeded your Daily Unattended Limit. The limit is reset daily at midnight and applies to vending machines only.

What is the "Daily Unattended Limit"?

The "Daily Unattended Limit" is a security feature built into your account. The Daily Unattended Limit is the total amount of money that can be spent in locations where there is no one to verify your identity. Dalton State has set the Daily Unattended Limit to $10. If your card is lost or stolen, this would be the maximum that can be spent from your account at these unattended locations.

Do Roadrunner Cash Account Funds expire at the end of the semester?

No. Roadrunner Cash Account funds never expire. Funds remain on your card until you spend them, graduate, or leave Dalton State.

Do Dining $ Account Funds expire at the end of the semester?

No. Dining $ Account funds never expire. Funds remain on your card until you spend them, graduate, or leave Dalton State.

Do Café Bonus Account Funds expire at the end of the semester?

Yes. Café Bonus Account funds expire at the end of each semester. The funds are an incentive given by the Roadrunner Café and are meant to be used by the end of the semester.

Do DS Print Account Credits expire at the end of the semester?

Yes. DS Print Account credits expire at the end of each semester. These credits expire at the end of each semester and are re-loaded at the beginning of the next semester. 

Getting Your First Roadrunner Card

What forms of ID are required to get a Roadrunner Card?
Because the Roadrunner Card is an official State of Georgia Identification Card we require valid, legal forms of ID. The identification submitted must be one of the following: A state issued driver's license or identification card, a U.S. passport, a U.S. military ID, a U.S. Department of State ID Card, or U.S. Territory ID Card. Foreign students, faculty, staff, and affiliates must present one of the following: Matricula Consular, I-551 Permanent Resident or Resident Alien, or foreign passport.

Lost/Stolen Roadrunner Cards

Can I get a replacement card sent to me through the mail?

No.  The Roadrunner Card is an official Georgia State Identification Card and as such, is governed under State of Georgia regulations and Homeland Security. Initial and replacement cards require identity verification which can only be done in person at the Roadrunner Card & Business Center.

Will I have to have my picture retaken when I get a replacement card?

Yes. In order for us to maintain an up-to-date database, you photo will have to be retaken. Your Roadrunner Card is an official Georgia State Identification Card and subject to the laws and regulations of the State of Georgia.

What should I do if I lose my card?

You can log on to the website 24 hours a day to report your card lost or stolen. Log in and go to "Account Settings" and click "Suspend Card." This will immediately stop anyone from accessing your account. To restore your account access (once you've found or replaced your card) you will need to come to the Roadrunner Card & Business Center with your ID.

What happens if I report my Roadrunner Card lost or Stolen?

You may log on to MYACCOUNT from the Roadrunner Card website and suspend your card. Alternately, the Roadrunner Card & Business Center can suspend your card. The Roadrunner Card & Business Center in compliance with Homeland Security directives will not be able to reinstate suspended cards without changing the card number. Card suspensions will require a replacement card and will be subject to a lost/stolen replacement fee.

Replacing My Roadrunner Card

Is there a charge to replace a damaged Roadrunner Card?

The Roadrunner Card & Business Center will replace, at no charge, any worn and nonfunctioning Roadrunner Card that exhibits normal wear and tear. The Roadrunner Card Center will charge for abnormal wear and tear, photograph change, lost, or stolen Roadrunner Cards.

How do I replace a damaged Roadrunner Card?

The Roadrunner Card Center will replace, at no charge, any worn and nonfunctioning Roadrunner Card that exhibits normal wear and tear. Normal wear and tear is defined as any damage that may be cause by swiping the Roadrunner Card though authorized Roadrunner Card equipment. Replacement Roadrunner Cards can be made during regular operating hours posted on the Roadrunner Card website.

Withdrawals/Refunds

Why can't I withdraw money from my Roadrunner Card Debit Account?

Your Roadrunner Card Account is designed for campus payment convenience and is not intended to be utilized as a bank account. The Roadrunner Card & Business Center is not a licensed bank, and withdrawals prior to graduation or leaving Dalton State are not allowed. When you graduate or leave Dalton State, you can complete a Refund Request Form to obtain remaining funds contained in your Roadrunner Card account. Please note, only balances of $25 or greater are refundable.
