Upper Division BSW Program Application Information
The Social Work Program has a formal application process which students must complete prior to registering for 3000 and 4000 level social work courses.
In order to be eligible to apply for the Upper Division of the BSW program, students must:
- Complete a minimum of 45 hours of lower division prerequisites;
- Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 scale;
- Complete an online application for the Upper Division BSW Program by the published deadline; and
- Participate in an interview with the faculty if requested to do so.
Students will be notified in writing as to whether or not they have been accepted into the Upper Division BSW Program.
Students are not admitted to the Upper Division unless they have completed or will complete all lower division courses prior to admission. A student may be considered for “conditional admission” if the student lacks no more than 6 hours of lower division coursework that the student will complete during the initial semester in the Upper Division. If the coursework has not been completed by the end of the initial semester, the student must reapply for admission to the Upper Division social work program.
