> Dalton State - Department of Social Work - Cross-Cultural Learning

The Dalton State BSW Program is distinctive because of its strong emphasis on preparing students to practice social work competently with diverse individuals in a diverse world. All DSC social work students are strongly encouraged to undertake a cross-cultural study program for credit during the Summer Semester of their junior year in either the U.S. or in another country. Opportunities for cross-cultural study vary in length and destination from year to year. Most former DSC students have participated in study experiences in Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Mexico or in the U.S. DSC social work alumni frequently report that cross-cultural study was the highlight of their college experience.

Students should contact their advisors for additional information about cross-cultural study opportunities. Financial assistance is often available.
