Seventy-two rising sophomores, juniors and seniors were awarded DSC
Foundation Scholarships recently during Dalton State College’s
annual Honors Convocation. This year, the DSC Foundation awarded
more than $90,000 in scholarships to sophomores, juniors and seniors
and will award additional scholarships to incoming freshmen entering
in the fall of 2009. Corporate and individual donors were on campus
recently to make those awards to eight Catoosa County students
majoring in various fields of study. Catoosa County residents who
received scholarships include (from left to right): Amelia Atwell,
the Roy Barrett Scholarship; Whitney Jones, the Wachovia Bank
Scholarship for Banking Excellence; Marisa Cardenas, the Goizueta
Foundation Scholarship and the Ratner Foundation Scholarship; Susan
