Team.

Jonathan Marks, Tabitha Bennett & Joseph Hurst enjoyed roasting
s’mores during the evening hours.

Dalton State College students helped with Relay for Life this month,
raising money for the American Cancer Society while participating in
an all-night walk around a walking track in honor of cancer
survivors.
“Our students raised $705 for the American Cancer Society,” says
Shawntay Simones, Coordinator for Civic Engagement for the Office of
Student Activities. “They also sold glow sticks and temporary
tattoos to raise additional money toward the cause.”
The DSC Relay Team made flower corsages to present to survivors to
wear during the event, Simones says.
“We had a ton of fun that evening. The team walked the track,
participated in line dances, and made s’mores. We even took second
place in the ‘Womanless Beauty Pageant.’”
Simones says she expects this to become an annual event that
students will be encouraged to participate in. |
