Dr. Jim Burran, President of Dalton State, greeted
Chancellor Erroll Davis, Jr., as he arrived on campus on
Wednesday, June 14, for his first visit to Dalton State.
His trip marked his 32nd visit to University System of
Georgia colleges and universities.

Dalton State College students had an opportunity to
meet with Chancellor Davis during his morning visit.

Chancellor Davis addressed several dozen faculty and
staff members during an informal question and answer
session and reception.

Dr. Christy Price, Associate Professor of Psychology,
asked Chancellor Davis to discuss University System of
Georgia retention policies.

Chris Moder, from the University System of Georgia
Central Office, Chancellor Davis, and Dr. Jim Burran
walked from Westcott to the Derrell C. Roberts Library
for a media briefing and lunch.

Chancellor Davis met with reporters from the Daily
Citizen News, the Chattanooga Times Free Press, and area
television stations Channels 9, 10, and 12.

DSC Foundation Trustees and area legislators attended
a luncheon in which the Chancellor welcomed questions
from about 50 attendees.

Ken Boring shook hands with Chancellor Davis while
his brother, Jim Boring, looked on. They were among the
college supporters who attended the luncheon.

Senator Don Thomas and Chancellor Davis shared a
handshake and a laugh following the luncheon.

Chancellor and University System of Georgia Regent Jim
Jolly.
