Senior Days
Between 900 and 1,000 seniors from area high schools are
expected to descend on the Dalton State campus this
month during the annual Senior Days visits sponsored
through the Office of Enrollment Services.
While on campus, seniors hear motivational talks
delivered by Enrollment Services staff members; learn
about student activities and intramural sports; explore
financial aid options and learn about DSC Foundation
scholarships; meet with faculty members; look at career
options; and even enjoy a free pizza lunch. Students
also have the option of taking a walking tour of the
campus.
“This is a great opportunity to introduce the idea of
going to college to students in our service area who are
trying to decide what they’re going to do next year,”
says Dr. Angela Harris, Director of Admissions.
“We try to provide them with a blueprint of what they
need to do first to be admitted to college, and we
answer their questions about what attending Dalton State
will be like.”
Since the Senior Days program began in the mid-1980s,
the number of students visiting each October has grown.
“So far, this is starting out to be a great year for
Senior Days,” says Harris, who noted that student
evaluations have been very positive to date.
The schedule of school visits in October is as follows:
October 3: Northwest High School
October 5: Dalton High School
Phoenix School
October 6: Christian Heritage School
LFO High School
Ridgeland High School
October 17: Southeast High School
Gordon Lee High School
Whitfield Career Academy
October 31: Murray County High School
