Welcome to Dalton State College and the New Student Orientation Program!
We invite you to Discover Dalton State! During Orientation,
new students and parents are welcomed to a campus community
that is enriched with strong academics, dedicated professors,
a friendly staff, engaged students, and many opportunities for
enhanced leadership. Orientation Leaders and faculty mentors
are both an integral part of our Orientation sessions, and
they are ready to help teach YOU how to succeed academically
and personally. In addition, they are here to advise and guide
you not only in class registration, but also in other student
service areas like vehicle registration, financial aid
information, clubs and organizations, and public safety on
campus. As you can see, your Orientation session is just the
beginning of a very exciting year for new DSC students. So,
take our advice… attend Orientation, get advised, register for
classes and don't forget to take the time to Discover Dalton
State!
~ 2010 SOAR Leaders
New Student Orientation is a relationship-driven program that
focuses on meeting the unique needs of students through
personal connections with student orientation leaders and is a
program hosted in the Office of Student Activities at Dalton
State College. New Student Orientation facilitates the education
of
transitioning students and their families about the history,
traditions, culture, and services of Dalton State College
through interactions with various offices, staff, and student
leaders. New Student Orientation supports family members of
new students by providing specialized sessions designed to
create a clearer understanding of college life for their
student. Collaboration with administration, faculty, and staff
strengthen the program’s ability to communicate processes and
procedures on wide-ranging topics, such as educational
opportunities, priority management, and student life
opportunities. The New Student Orientation
program strives to create experiences that are both fun and
educational for all persons involved.
