Who is required to attend Orientation?
All new students are required to attend an Orientation session
|

Do I have to have a reservation to attend
Orientation?
Reservations are required and can be made after you have received an
official Letter of Acceptance from the Dalton State College office of
Enrollment Services. Students can
apply online or contact Enrollment
Services (706-272-4566) to reserve placement for an Orientation session.

Can I bring anyone else with me to
Orientation?
Parents/guardians are welcome to accompany students, but in considerations
of other participants, please do not bring children.
|

Where and when do I check in?
Check in is at the Goodroe Auditorium
in Memorial Hall and it begins
thirty minutes prior to your reserved Orientation time. |

What will I do at Orientation?
Students that attend Orientation will be given the opportunity to meet
students (both new and current), faculty, and staff. In addition,
students can participate in a campus tour, learn how to search for
classes, and meet representatives from Financial Aid, the Bookstore,
Public Safety and Student Activities Offices.

What do I need to bring with me to
Orientation?
All needed materials will be provided for you. However, students not
receiving the HOPE Scholarship should bring some form of payment for their
classes. Students should wear comfortable shoes for the campus tour. Be sure
to bring your license plate number for your parking decal application.

When will I get to register for classes?
If your are an Associate or Bachelor's degree student:
Please contact the Academic Advising Center at 706.272.4458 to schedule a
personal appointment with an academic advisor who is trained to advise and
register first time college students. Plan to allow at least an hour for
your appointment. There is no charge for advising and registration. Call
now!
If you are a Mini-Certificate or Certificate student:
You do not need to set up an appointment for advisement and
registration. You will register during New Student Orientation.
