The on-campus Residual Test (ACT) is the ACT
which is administered at Dalton State College for on-campus administration on
dates set by the college.
If you plan to apply to any other institution, you must take the National ACT.
The ACT Residual Exam is a three and one-half hours, standardized exam. It measures English,mathematical, reading, and science skills that students have developed and needed to be academically successful. DSC requires that all students entering into a transfer degree program that have been out of high school less than 5 years have ACT scores.
You should bring the following items when taking the
- Current photo ID i.e., driver's license or passport.

Results are provided directly to the Admissions Office and are generally available within 24-48 hours of completing the exam. The Admissions Office will provide students with feedback on the R-ACT exam.
Unlike the National ACT, the R-ACT is used solely for acceptance to DSC. This score may not be accepted by another institution for admission. This test may only be taken once every 6 months and a total of 12 times.Register On-line here!
Please note: Payment for the exam should be made before you come to take the exam in the Testing Center. Payments are to be made in the Business Office and can be made the day of your exam. The payment should be exact cash or a check only. Please contact the Business Office at 706-272-4435 if you need additional payment information. The $55 R-ACT fee is nonrefundable. You will be required to show your receipt of payment in order to take the exam.
