Biography
Dr. Leah Howell holds a B.S. in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Shorter University (2005). She obtained her Ph.D. in Genetics from Clemson University (2010) and has been teaching ever since. Her Ph.D. dissertation focused on the genetics of metal uptake in the freshwater microbe, Caulobacter crescentus.
Dr. Howell enjoys teaching a variety of courses at DSC including Biology I, Microbiology, and Genetics. Outside of teaching, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She has 2 children: a boy and a girl. She also enjoys college football, reading, and music.
