Preparing for Literacy Camp

Jennifer Hurtado and other students in Dalton State’s School of Education spend time reviewing books and planning age-appropriate lessons for a literacy skills summer camp that begins next week.

Materials for the camp were purchased as part of a $20,000 state language and literacy grant awarded to the School of Education earlier this year. The grant also helped fund books, which will be given to students attending the camp, as well as to the teacher candidates to begin a classroom library.

The School of Education is partnering with the Whitfield County Public Schools to provide the camp.
