Dalton State Student Receives Ruby Falls Scholarship

Dalton State biology student Ashley Brotherton was one of three outstanding employees at Ruby Falls honored with a scholarship recently.

Brotherton, a mother of two boys balancing college, work, and a family, received the annual John Thomas Steiner Sr. Memorial Scholarship for her hard work, passion, and commitment to her academic career.

Brotherton is a team member at Ruby Falls who works as a cashier, but has also filled positions in retail, the ticket desk, and in food services. She is studying biology with plans to pursue a career as a pathologist.

“Receiving this scholarship not only changes my life but the lives of my children as well,” Brotherton said. “It gives me the confidence to know that I am worthy of beating the statistics of young mothers who are attending college.”
