Why did you choose Dalton State? At first I chose Dalton State because it was close to home and affordable. I am choosing to continue at Dalton State because of the friendships and memories I have made in just my first year. Also, the office doors of every faculty and staff member are always open, and they all truly care about each student. They want to help, and I haven’t heard anything like that from any other college.
Who is/was your favorite professor and why? Every professor that I have had have been great. So it’s hard to choose my absolute favorite. If I had to choose one it would be Professor Hussein Mohamed. I have been in two of his biology classes so far. He is passionate about his job and wants his students to enjoy it as well. He cares about every student and wants everyone to succeed. If I have the chance to take a class of his in the future I will definitely take it.
What activities are you involved in on campus? Last year I joined the orientation team. I learned a lot about Dalton State and made a lot of friends and memories. This year I am on the Orientation Leadership Team. I also attended Dalton State’s Third Annual Leadership Conference which was a lot of fun. I plan on getting more involved on campus by the end of this year.
What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? One of my biggest accomplishments so far was finishing my freshman year with a 4.0 GPA. I studied so hard, and sometimes felt like it was impossible to do, but when I accomplished that I was so proud of myself. Another one is joining the Orientation Team. Being on the team helped me grow so much as a person. I learned how to be a better leader and friend. I feel like joining the team opened a world of other opportunities for me.
Where is your favorite hangout? Any time I don’t have classes, you can more than likely find me in the student center upstairs. I’m usually studying, eating lunch, or talking to my friends.
What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? So far, my best memory is going to the Southern Regional Orientation Workshop (SROW) with all of the other orientation leaders. While I was there I was able to meet people from a lot of other schools, learn about how to be a better leader, and learned more about myself.
What is the last book you read? The Fault in Our Stars by John Green
Favorite comfort food? Rocky Road ice cream or string cheese
Favorite line from a movie? “To live would be an awfully big adventure.” –Peter Pan
If you won the lottery, what would you do? I would give my mom a good bit of it so she can pay bills and spend it on anything else she needs. I would give my dad enough to pay off the rest of my car. Then I would buy my boyfriend and me front row seats to WrestleMania and passes to WrestleMania Access so we could meet our favorite WWE superstars!
What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I would love to learn how to play the violin. I love the way they sound in all types of music.
What is your favorite book? Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by JK Rowling.
Who would play you in the movie version of your life? Chloe Grace Moretz. She is only about six months younger than I am and she is one of my favorite actresses.
If you could go back in history, who would you like to meet? Johnny Cash. He is one of my favorite musicians. I would love to talk to him and learn more about his life.
What is your favorite app? Netflix and Hulu Plus. I have watched so many sitcoms in the past year because of these apps.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? I wanted to be a teacher.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? Being a part of the Roadrunner Nation means opportunity. There are so many opportunities for everyone at Dalton State. There are opportunities to get involved on campus, build your resume, improve leadership skills, and visit places you wouldn’t get to otherwise. There is really something for everyone to do or be a part of while they are attending school here.
