Why did you choose Dalton State? Affordable and close to home

What do you plan to do after graduation? My plan is to attend dental school and learn how to improve the oral health and well-being of people while simultaneously instilling confidence in them. There is nothing more powerful than transformative healthcare. Someday, I’d like to have the opportunity to provide dental care to people who live in countries with limited access and affordability.

What activities are you involved in on campus? This year, I’m serving as a senator in the Student Government Association, along with several committees such as the Budget and Fee Committee and the College Athletics Committee. I am a member of Beta Chi Nu, a biological honor society. I’m also an academic tutor in subjects such as biology, chemistry, physics, and calculus. If you’re struggling, sign up with me. You won’t regret it!

What are some of your favorite activities in and around Dalton? I love to spend time outdoors, whether it be hiking, running, or simply sitting outside and enjoying the view.

Where is your favorite study spot? the Pope patio

What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? The best memories I’ve had at Dalton State were with my team members in the Campus Activities Board last year. Every moment I spent with them was incredibly fun. It was interesting to see how people who were so different from one another could meld together and bring out each other’s strengths to create an amazing team. Being a part of that team helped me become more comfortable with Dalton State, and it was my gateway to becoming an active student on campus.

What is the last book you read? Mirrors of the Unseen: Journeys in Iran by Jason Elliot

Favorite comfort food? Chocolate!!

If you had a theme song, what would it be? “Love Yourz” by J. Cole is my theme song. He reminds me that there will always be people who are better than me in some way or another, but loving myself will allow me to appreciate the amazing people and things that are distinct to my life. There is no greater happiness generated from that feeling.

Favorite line from a movie? “It is our choices, Harry, that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.” - Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

What is your guilty pleasure? Binge watching and then re-watching T.V. shows…Grey’s Anatomy never fails to disappoint.

What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I would love to learn one more language and become trilingual. I think that language greatly influences the way people view the world, so it would allow me to gain a keener perspective on other cultures and become a more open-minded individual.

What cheers you up? seeing my friends experience genuine happiness

What is your favorite book? Harry Potter series

Who is your hero? My parents are my heroes. Their story reflects the will to create beautiful opportunities from virtually nothing.

What is your favorite app? Twitter - let the emotional venting begin.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? When I think about being a part of the Roadrunner Nation, I think about having the strength to break societal expectations and finding a way to grow intellectually. It means stepping out of your comfort zone to find what you are passionate about, establishing your identity as an individual on campus and in society.
