Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State for multiple reasons. One of the reasons is because it’s so close to home, which ties into my next reason why I chose to go here - many of my friends go here. It’s amazing to know that as I’m walking to my next class I’ll see the smiling faces of the people I hold so dearly.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? It means family. I know at Dalton State that I’ll always have someone or something to help me in anything I try to conquer.

What do you plan to do after graduation? I plan to take on the treacherous dental school to fulfill my dream of becoming an orthodontist.

Who is/was your favorite professor and why? Definitely Professor Elizabeth Lucht. Professor Lucht shows so much enthusiasm in her career from the time she steps onto the classroom grounds until the time she steps off. It’s that enthusiasm that makes not only me want to learn, but everyone who gets the honor of taking her class.

What activities are you involved in on campus? I got blessed with the opportunity to become an Orientation Leader. Being an OL is something that I hold very dear to my heart, and the memories I have made will never be forgotten.

Where is your favorite study spot? My favorite place to study on campus would have to be the study rooms in the upstairs library. You see, I’m very easily distracted… did you know Beyoncé had her twins?! See? Long story short, I have to separate myself from others so I can actually get things done in a timely manner.

Where is your favorite hangout? My favorite place to hang out would be the upstairs Pope Student Center, where I’m actually typing this now. I’m a people watcher- no, that’s not creepy- so just sitting and analyzing the different personalities intrigues me. Plus, it’s where I’ll find most of my friends.

Favorite comfort food? Homie, that’s a definite sushi. If you’re reading this, give me sushi and I’ll give you a big hug and possibly a smooch on the cheek.

If you had a theme song, what would it be? “Partition” by my wife, Beyoncé.

Favorite line from a movie? “I’ll never let go,” by Rose from Titanic. It stuck with me because she’s a liar and let go shortly after.

If you won the lottery, what would you do? First, I would pay off college. Then, donate a ton of money to the orientation program because Katelyn Humphrey and the team deserve the best.

What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I want to learn how to fly but that’s not possible, so the next thing on my list is to have the ability to speak fluent Spanish. Spanish is a beautiful language, so having the ability to speak it would be stellar.

What cheers you up? When I see other people smile or hear them laugh I’m instantly in a better mood. Laughter is hands down my favorite thing.

If you could go back in history, who would you like to meet? Jack from Titanic. I’d offer him room, because Rose was too selfish.

What is your favorite app? Totally Instagram. Hit me with a follow @mr.mashburn

Where is your favorite place to eat? Taco Bell. Cheap, fake tacos are the best.

What did you want to be when you were a kid? A zookeeper, but that got shot down when I figured out what I would be cleaning up all day. No thanks.

As a Roadrunner, what does it mean to Run Boldly? To Run Boldly means to know what I want, and to take it without anyone telling me I can’t.
