Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State because it’s very affordable, close proximity to my home, and offered great scholarships.
What do you plan to do after graduation? I will most likely pursue an MBA in Management Information Systems while attempting to form a career as a database administrator, systems administrator, or software engineer.
Who is/was your favorite professor and why? Economics professor Dr. Brent Evans. Not a single lecture was dull or void of important information. Overall, just a great blend of knowledge of the subject he teaches along with a profound enthusiasm to teach.
What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? Achieving membership in the Dalton State chapter for Beta Gamma Sigma.
Where is your favorite study spot? Second floor of the library. It’s always peaceful and the other students are respectful of one another.
Where is your favorite hangout? My favorite hangout place on campus is the Bandy Gymnasium. It’s a great place to take a break from studying and get some exercise in.
What is the last book you read? “The Abolition of Man” by C.S. Lewis.
What do you feel most proud of? Every day is an extension of what I’m most proud of. Just continuing to do what, in my opinion, feels like me moving in the correct direction towards my goals as I become closer and closer to graduating and starting what is hopefully the next big chapter in my life.
If you won the lottery, what would you do? I would divide the earnings into different sections. One section would be for my personal life and personal expenses. Another section would be paying off house payments and other expenses for my parents to set up a nice retirement for my father. The final section would be given to charity and other non-profit organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? Wakeboarding or surfing. It seems like it’d be useful later on in life to have talent and interest in a physical hobby to stay healthy and active while also having a great time.
What cheers you up? Family, friends, and music are my trinity for being cheered up.
Who is your hero? My father. He’s a person whose self-motivation and strong work ethic really inspires me to work hard and it fires up my competitive drive to succeed and excel. He’s also a great role model to me, since I look up to his respectful and kind personality. He’s definitely someone I’m grateful to have in my life.
If you could go back in history, who would you like to meet? American astrophysicist and science communicator, Carl Sagan.
What is your favorite app? Pandora.
Where is your favorite place to eat? Red Lobster.
What did you want to be when you were a kid? It may be easier to ask what I didn’t want to be. I was pretty imaginative and would jump around wanting different careers all the time when I was younger. One month it was a lawyer, the next month a doctor, and the next an engineer.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? Being a part of the Roadrunner Nation is a very big deal to me as it shows that receiving quality education at an affordable price isn’t impossible. Beyond Dalton State College’s affordability, the college and its faculty put in a lot of hard work to ensure the students learn the skills and information necessary to excel in various fields of work, and I truly appreciate that hard work that the faculty and staff put in to the college. When I think of the Roadrunner Nation, I think of opportunity. The opportunity to progress in life, the opportunity to meet great people and make new friends, and the opportunity to be a part of something great.
