Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State because I was looking for a college not too far away from home but still away from home. The moment I stepped foot onto this campus I realized this is where I wanted to be.
What activities are you involved in on campus? I am a Dalton State Resident Assistant, as well as a Dalton State Student Government Senator for the Office of Residential Life. I also play flag football for the Dalton State intermural and the community league.
What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? Being awarded the Unsung Hero for the 2014-2015 school year by Student Life then being awarded Resident Assistant of the 2014-2015 school year by Russell Smith(Head RA), Natalie Bates (Director of Residential Life), and Jason Ramos (Assistant Director of Residential Life).
Where is your favorite study spot? The study lounge at Wood Valley

What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? Last Year when Dalton State basketball became national champs; it was unexpected by all of us. One moment we were a school that barely anyone knew about, and we went to being front and center on ESPN. It’s an amazing feeling. That’s what made Roadrunner Nation and will always be the defining moment in the history of Dalton State College, or as I would call it D State.

What do you feel most proud of? My accomplishments so far. I’m only in my early 20s, and I feel as if I have accomplished so much in just a short span of my life with so much more to do in the rest of my life. Setting goals that I can reach is what has bought me this far, and I want to continue to do that.
What cheers you up? My nephew, anytime I see him if I’m not having a good day just hearing him say uncle can brighten up my day.

What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? Roadrunner Nation means being a part of a school that transformed my life. There is this feeling that I have about Dalton State that is unlike any other college. Once you are a mile away from exit 333 you are in what I consider Roadrunner Nation territory. The students know, the community knows, I know, and the travelers just passing by know that they have entered Roadrunner Nation just by the feel of the campus. Roadrunner Nation is what I consider home away from home. I feel as if no other school can top the feeling that being an a part of Roadrunner Nation offers you. It transforms you into someone who can compete with the world by the education you receive here. It transforms you into someone who becomes involved because of the opportunities offered here. And lastly it transforms you into that raging sports fan that you always wanted to be for your favorite sports team but couldn’t afford seats to their stadium.
