Why did you choose Dalton State? I chose Dalton State because of the community that it creates. My professors here know me as a person and not every school is like that. I love going on campus and seeing familiar faces and friends! We are a small school with a lot of heart.
What does it mean to you to be part of the Roadrunner Nation? To me being a part of Roadrunner Nation means having friends who have turned into family. I have met the most wonderful people during my time here and without Dalton State I would have never met them! Being a part of Roadrunner Nation is like being a part of something that is so much bigger than myself! I love the community we have on campus.
Who is/was your favorite professor and why? Oh gosh! The education program has many too many great professors to pick one! Dr. Mesco, Dr. Smith, Professor Johnson, to name a few! These ladies care about us future teachers, current students and humans. They put in extra hours to make sure all their students are happy and healthy. They have also taken the time to get to know me as a person which is something that really means a lot.
What are some of your biggest achievements or accomplishments at Dalton State? I have loved my time in the education program. Being in the education program I have made some of my lifelong friends and met the best people (SHOUT OUT TO MY COHORT!) I have tried to be involved in as much as possible in the program such as being treasurer for Kappa Delta Pi which is an Honor Society specifically for education majors, representing SOE on homecoming court and representing Dalton State at conferences. While these aren’t your typical accolades, remaining in the program while being so involved is a huge accomplishment!
Where is your favorite study spot? I love the new study rooms in the library!
Where is your favorite hangout? If it is to get schoolwork done, Panera or Starbucks! The Brown building is also where you will find a lot of education majors studying or collaborating.
What is your best memory so far as part of the Roadrunner Nation? Being on homecoming court this past year and participating in homecoming week was a great experience. It was an awesome way to meet people I wouldn’t get to meet otherwise and get involved more on campus! That was probably been one of my favorite memories.

What do you feel most proud of? I am most proud of the work I have done with Extra Special People Inc. in Watkinsville, GA. ESP is a non-profit that gives kids and adults with special needs and abilities the opportunity to engage, connect and thrive in their communities! They have after-school programming and summer camp. I have worked multiple summers as a camp counselor and have been plugged in there ever since. This organization has brought me so much joy and perspective!
What is a skill you’d like to learn and why? I would love to learn sign language. I think that is an amazing skill and have always wanted to learn how to do that.

As a Roadrunner, what does it mean to Run Boldly? As a Roadrunner, I think Run Boldly can have many interpretations. To me running boldly means being brave enough to do what makes you happy in life. That path might not be the easiest or the coolest- but living life boldly is all about finding your passion and living life to the fullest! Being bold is beautiful!
