Solo Pianist to Perform at Dalton State

09/12/16

Music has the ability to calm a stressful mind from a busy day, and Dalton State is pleased to present pianist Jerico Vasquez, who will perform on campus Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 7:30 p.m. in the Goodroe Auditorium.

Jerico Vasquez is currently an associate professor of music and the coordinator of the Keyboard Program at Shorter University. Well known for his “formidable and effortless playing” and “exceptionally clear and bright technique,” Vasquez has performed all around the world as a concerto soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician.

He maintains an active performing career playing both solo and collaborative recitals, and recent performances include solo recitals in the southeast United States and the Philippines. This award winning pianist also conducts workshops and lectures, and has frequently served as an adjudicator in local and regional festivals and competitions. He will perform a variety of pieces designed to soothe the heart and mind.

This event is made possible by a grant from the Dalton State Foundation to the School of Liberal Arts.

The free recital is open to the public. For more questions, please contact Dr. Ellie Jenkins, at 706-272-2528.
