Dalton State Music Faculty to Perform

Dalton State’s experienced and accomplished music faculty will perform in concert for the public next week.

The concert will be Tuesday, Oct. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Dalton State’s Goodroe Auditorium. The concert is free.

Those performing are Dr. Ellie Jenkins, Eric Hanson, Michael Carver, Paula Pasqua, Wanda Dugger, and Michele Headrick.

Jenkins, associate professor of music at Dalton State College, plays principal horn in the Carroll Symphony and the Chamber Players of the South, and second horn with the Rome Symphony.

Hanson, part-time instructor of music at Dalton Sate College, was the principal bassist of the Huntsville Symphony and has been an active performer in southeast Wisconsin as well as a regular substitute with the Milwaukee Symphony.

Carver, who serves on the Dalton State faculty as a part-time music instructor, is the bass trombonist with the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera at the historic Tivoli Theater in Chattanooga, Tenn. He has toured China and Japan as a member of the Hollywood Film Orchestra.

Pasqua, part-time music instructor at Dalton State College, received her bachelor and master degrees in music with emphasis in violin performance from the University of Northern Colorado. This year she was honored as Musician of the Year by the Rome Symphony.

Dugger joined the faculty at Dalton State College in 2015. She has performed with the Rome Symphony Orchestra, Carrollton Symphony, Blue Mountain Chamber Players, Northwest Georgia Winds, Highlanders Jazz Ensemble, Chattanooga Clarinet Trio, and the Chattanooga Clarinet Choir.

Headrick is a native Daltonian and is a part-time piano instructor at Dalton State College. She attended Shorter University where she earned her bachelor of music degree in piano performance and Louisiana State University where she received master's degree in piano.
